SARANAC, Mich. – Herbruck’s Poultry Ranch, Michigan’s largest egg producer, has published its annual Sustainability Report, showing the company’s ongoing efforts to implement sustainability practices into every aspect of the fourth-generation family business.
The report covers 2025 and details how Herbruck’s prioritizes four key pillars of sustainability: People, Planet, Products and Prosperity.
“At Herbruck’s, our longstanding values continue to drive us forward,” said Greg Herbruck, CEO. “In 2025, we renewed our focus on our mission to produce delicious eggs made with the highest standards of quality, animal care and sustainability, and our Sustainability Report reflects our commitment to caring for our people, our environment and our communities.”
The newest report covers Herbruck’s 67th year of operations and growth in many areas, from fourth-generation family members taking on more responsibility in the business to launching new products and continuing to protect flocks from Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI). Each of the pillars details the ways Herbruck’s promotes sustainability in each aspect of the company:
People: Herbruck’s was again recognized as one of the Best and Brightest Companies to Work for in the Nation, the third time it has received this award. The company expanded offerings at its on-site Employee Wellness Clinic and donated more than 2.5 million eggs to the communities it proudly serves.
Planet: The Herbruck’s commitment to environmental stewardship continued to guide its practices and innovation in 2025. The company continued to offer environmentally friendly packaging and produce organic, nutrient-rich fertilizer made from hen waste. Herbruck’s also kept its recycling rate at nearly 100%.
Products: After a gradual and deliberate rebuilding process, Herbruck’s reached full egg production capacity following an outbreak of HPAI at its Michigan farm in 2024. The company expanded its product offerings with a new line of eggs and maintained its role as an industry leader in bird care.
Prosperity: Herbruck’s broke ground on a new egg processing plant to help meet customer demand, and fourth-generation Herbruck’s family members continued to embrace the legacy of those who came before them while expanding their roles in the business.
