Leadership, team members donate nonperishables during Hunger Action Month
SARANAC, Mich. – The team at Herbruck’s Poultry Ranch is helping to feed those in need by donating more than 5,000 nonperishable food items to local charitable organizations.
Herbruck’s leadership and team members at each of its Michigan and Pennsylvania facilities donated items throughout September, which is Hunger Action Month, a time to raise awareness and inspire action to end hunger in the United States. Herbruck’s will donate the items to local food pantries to help families experiencing food insecurity.
“Herbruck’s is incredibly proud of our team for coming together to support our community through our annual food drive,” said Stephanie Kempa, chief human resources officer at Herbruck’s. “We’re thankful for the opportunity to give back and help meet a real need in our community as part of our efforts to be a good neighbor to the communities we serve.”
The donations were divided and delivered to IM Kids 3rd Meal, Manna’s Market, Saranac Community Church Pantry, Zion Church Ionia Food Pantry and Illuminate Church’s Food Pantry in Michigan. Herbruck’s donated items collected at Blue Springs Egg Farm to My Neighbor’s Bounty in Mercersburg.
Food donations to help local families are just one of the ways Herbruck’s puts into action its value of being a good neighbor. Herbruck’s consistently donates more than 2 million eggs annually, sponsors community events and makes funding donations to local organizations.
Herbruck’s Poultry Ranch is a fourth-generation family farm based in Saranac, Michigan. Herbruck’s is the largest egg producer in Michigan and has locations in Michigan, Indiana and Pennsylvania. For more information about Herbruck’s, visit: www.herbrucks.com.
