SARANAC, Mich. –  The Herbruck’s Poultry Ranch team is helping feed people in need by donating nearly 3,000 pounds of nonperishable food items to local organizations.

Throughout Hunger Action Month in September, Herbruck’s leadership and team members at each of its Michigan, Indiana and Pennsylvania facilities made donations. Together, the Herbruck’s team donated 2,800 pounds of food to help support families and neighbors in multiple communities where Herbruck’s facilities are located.

“At Herbruck’s, we work to be a good neighbor and help look out for the people and communities around us,” said Amy Herbruck, community relations manager at Herbruck’s. “By collecting and donating nonperishable foods to local community organizations, we can help make a meaningful difference for local families, and we’re proud of our team members for helping carry out this value in the communities we serve.”

Hunger Action Month is organized by Feeding America and is meant to raise awareness and inspire action to end food insecurity in the United States. Herbruck’s donated the items to local food pantries to help families experiencing food insecurity.

Herbruck’s distributed the donations to:

·        Zion Food Pantry in Ionia, Michigan

·        Saranac Community Church Food Pantry in Saranac, Michigan

·        IM Kids 3rd Meal in Belding, Michigan

·        Common Grace Ministries in Kendallville, Indiana

·        My Neighbor’s Bounty in Mercersburg, Pennsylvania

Food donations are just one way Herbruck’s puts its value of being a good neighbor into action. The fourth-generation family business donates more than 2 million eggs annually to community organizations, along with funds, supplies and other resources.

Herbruck’s Poultry Ranch is a fourth-generation family farm and leader in the poultry industry based in Saranac, Michigan.
