Herbruck’s Poultry Ranch, a fourth-generation leading egg producer, is building a new egg processing plant in Kendallville, Indiana. The northeast Indiana plant will begin production in spring 2026.

Who is Herbruck’s?

Herbruck’s is a fourth-generation family farm and leader in the poultry industry headquartered in Saranac, Michigan, with additional locations in Indiana and Pennsylvania.
As the largest egg producer in Michigan, we supply billions of farm-fresh eggs to retailers and food services outlets across the country each year.

When did Herbruck’s get its start?

  • Herbruck’s Poultry Ranch was founded in 1958 by Harry Sr. and Marilyn Herbruck.
  • Today, our farm is operated by third- and fourth-generation family members.

What does this project entail?

  • We are beginning renovations to a 75,000-square-foot facility in southwest Kendallville that will result in a more than $20 million economic investment in the community and greater region.
  • Our Kendallville facility will increase our egg processing capacity to meet customer demand and allow for the local processing of Indiana eggs and the distribution of eggs from the site directly to customers.
  • It will process about 420 million eggs annually.
  • We expect to begin processing at the facility in spring 2026.

Who is working on this project?

Freedom Builders, based in Middlebury, Indiana, is the general contractor on the project.

How many jobs will this project create?

The facility will create job opportunities for local residents and will employ 60 people when it is fully operational in spring 2026.
